  • Saying Hello !

Hi everyone. I was cruising on the puter tonight and
    discovered this great forum.

I had NO idea the there was so much interest in XS 1100's !

My first brand new 1100 was bought at Maryland Yamaha
in 1978 for a whopping # 2850.00 After building, and racing
Kaw's since 1970, I thought I died and went to Heaven when
I rode my 1100 home that day. I never forget the silky
smoothness, the arm ripping power, and the pogo effect
    from the shaft.

All in all, a great bike and a good time riding as well. It'll
be good to talk about old war stories and getting to know
    everyone.

    Cheers.
    I wish I still had my 78 1100 with
the Blake turbo running 22 lbs
of boost. The year was 1984.

    Oh the longing ...

    Hey JohnnyB,

Welcome to the FUN!! Being an XS11 veteran is an advantage for sure. There are many for sale all the time, so if you really want to relive the fun and glory, you can find one fairly easily just for looking! If you'll stroll over to the MAIN forum page, scroll down to the RALLIES, section, Northeast, you'll see info about an upcoming getogether in NY in 2007 near the Thousand Island region. Would be happy to have you join, even if you don't have a bike, or have one, but not an XS11, ALL BIKES are welcome!

Thanks for the welcome Topcat. The Thousand Island region
sure is beautiful (been there many times) and will make
for a great ride. I'm not sure that I could get there, but
      you never know.

Thanks for the info regarding the Forum as well.

      Cheers.
