  • Happy Birthday!

I'd sing... but then it wouldn't be so happy anymore...

Best wishes for an XSively great day to my favorite XSive (John... as if there were a question about it) and to Ray (I didn't remember that you two shared a birthday)!

"A day that will live in infamy."

Congratulations to both John and Ray. You both improved with age, like good wine and smelly cheese. (You can fight amongst yourselves as to which one gets to be which)

(I found it hard to keep track of birthdays here, as for the longest time, everyone was born on Dec., 31, 1969, but I now see that that has been corrected)

Thanks Wildkat!! See, there is a reason you can put up with me for a few hours!! And as far as the wine and cheese, we all know Texas is a beer state, and California is a wine state. No fight needed.
And happy Birthday John!! Make sure to have a great day, as you only have one more year to the point of no return!
( for those that don't know, the point of no return is the point you MUST fly toward you next stop, as it's closer than the point you left from. And 50 is 1/2 way there!!)

        Smelly cheese and old farts

(okay... even I can't believe I just wrote that)
I'll behave... but I'm thinking it.

Ray, we'll be happy to "put up with" you again. Come on back...
How about an October birthday ride to Texas? It's much cooler (usually).
Everyone meet at our house next year, October 3.

I promise I won't let the spastic starling out.
(he's finally stopped pecking people on the head... sort of)

          "Definition, please."

Considering the subject... Is "Letting out the spastic starling" the same as a "Barking Spider" or "stepping on a duck"?

No prom, She is being literal. There is a bird that lives with John and Wildkat, and he does like to land on your head and let you know who he thinks is boss.

Happy B day to you too, Ray. It seems they come too fast at this age.

Prom, Spaz is a male Starling that fell from the nest a couple of days after hatching. It was at our kids school, and the kids that found it in the street asked Kat if she could help it. She took it so the kids wouldn't have to see it die. Well, she brought it home, and bought some baby bird formula, and fed it every couple of hours with an eye dropper. That was in May...
Now he is like a teen ager, and trying to 'find himself'. He will fly around the room, (avoiding the ceiling fans) and land on the tallest head in the room. usually mine. He's cool. He will sing when there is music playing, and he has a nice song. At least he doesn't just squawk like some birds.

                Hey John,

Happy B'day, I'm only 4 months to the year behind you! And also you to DiverRay, you old fart of 52!

Hey Prom, WOW, I hadn't noticed that before, but you're right, now when you click on the PROFILE, it DOES show their proper B'day. And I had forgotten that, like John and DiverRay having the same day, We...you and I also share the same B'day date! That dern Oldtimer's is getting worse!

John, Keep that Starling around, you won't have to buy a "skeeter zapper", that's what they like to eat! That's one reason why folks put up starling towers near their homes, to have then nest there, cause they eat up all the skeeters!

I'm glad Kat clarified that info, so we know who the "Little Pecker" is!

                  The Bird

Hitchcock must have had a starling...

Spaz was so ugly when he was little there wasn't room for cute. He was all beak and pink. Had to eat every 20 - 30 minutes for the first three weeks (luckily, I have nothing else to do )

Aside from his peckerheadedness... he is very cool. He learned the wolf whistle... and is now learning "I'm a mighty poopin' eagle" to add to his repertoire.

He is an amazing fly catcher from what the kids have told me (I never see him earn his keep).
