I saw two differant XS's 4 sale today, both 25 footers! One was bobbed and had a special style gage cluster, and a solo springer seat. pretty sure it was an 850. Didn't look too long as he wanted $2200!!! The other is a full dresser, probably an 80 and pretty sure it is an XS. How do I tell it from an XJ? I may pick it up, it's rusty and needs more TLC than my 79 Special More on it in a minute.
Yhe guy says it runs and stops fine and he wnts 7 or 800 for it. I'm thinking of picking it up just to savr it and clean it up. ( that was a typo, but I like it
-besides, it will give my roomie something to ride while he is trying to get his scoot back-long story. He is the one that convinced me to buy the 79 special I got earlier this summer for $800.
I LOVE that bike!! This is my first street bike- trail bikes and mopeds b4- and now that I have it running good, I don't think I will ever part with it! I have a TKAT fork brace on the way, and am going to change the fork oil at the same time. Hope that gets rid of most of the shimmy I feel on some roads. I will be getting tires this fall also. ALL my buddys have Harldeys, and I will also one day. Then I won't be toasting them most of the time. Some of them may drive faster than me(i get a bad shimmy above 85-thus the fork braceand fork oil) but I get there first! Usually without trying too hard either. It won't win best of show, but with all the go I don't care! most of them have complimented me on my bike, Sometimes I just want to blend in though, so I will eventually get a Harley
Now I just have to build another shed- one to hold three bikes! I think I will pick up the bagger this week, a little elbow grease and she will be good as used again.
I think I should just build a small warehouse to store all my ( and my roomies) projects. I wonder how much room I would need for 3 or 4 cars/trucks and 6-8 bikes??..................
