If I can make at least one person smile, or pee their pants a little, or maybe spit out their drink; then my day is not wasted.
Got a spot in back of shop for it for it now. Can't tell from pic, but this ones in pretty sad shape. Will check engine over and stick a set of carbs on it from the self just to here it run. Any serious work on it will be next year tho....
Next week plan to start on the engine for MNS (that kinda got side tracked by the Hot Rod).
Soon, may need to see if I can get someone to find another place to store their stuff..... other than my garage. Wouldn't want to run outa space for my hobby.
Well,
Was out front working on Godzilla, putting on a new front tire, SWMBO was preparing to go shopping, and this little creature came strolling up to her.
No collar, many poo-poo balls all entwined in her butthole hair, nails were rather long, face hair not been cleaned/trimmed for quite some time....so "we" adopted her!
As for my tire changing endeavor, I took a bunch of photos to make a nice tech tip, but when I tried to upload the photos to the XS11.com tech tip server....they wouldn't go?? Gary has a message to JP(OWNER of XS11.com) to find out what needs to be done to allow more server space for photos for tech tips!
In the mean time, there are few I want to show you anyways.
This first one shows the front wheel raised up, the old ChenSheng Marquis still on there, but note the position of the fender.....apparently the "SHOP" over a decade ago after a bad front ender, replaced my Special Fender with a STANDARD one, hence the much closer position of the front to the tire vs. the rear!
Years ago, when I had put on that ChenSheng, I had gone for a high speed run, and afterwards, noticed that the center portion of the tread had some funny wear marks, and the tip of my fender wasn't green anymore, but brown and bubbled!!
I adjusted the fender by reaming out the mounting holes a bit which let the front end sit a bit higher away from the tire, and it was good for the 5 years I used that tire. Amazing how easily we forget!!!
So, I got my new Dunlop D404 110/90-19 put on my rim, and then speed balanced at the local bike/race/machine shop for only $10.00!! Then put it on the bike, buttoned everything back up.
Decided to go for a spin to check out how it handled, and to get it up to a decent speed to check for wobbles, vibrations, etc.!!
It handled perfectly, and was smooth rolling up to 100mph! I drove it back home, and got off, and walked around and looked at the tire and fender, and here's what I saw!
Not the way I wanted to remove the whiskers!!
Fortunately, it's only about 1/8" deep, and I won't be using the center portion much anyways in SUCHES!! I'll be readjusting that fender again!

No collar,(wearing a T shirt) , nails were rather long, face hair not been cleaned/trimmed for quite some time....
Wait.... you were talking about the dog, weren't you? (The dingle-berries weren't in the pic, but I guess we can take your word for it)
T.C., did the tire "clear" initially when put on, and the scraping was caused by it expanding due to your XSive speed?
"Damn it Jim, I'm a doctor, not a mechanic!' ('Bones' McCoy)
But, yeah, this is proof positive that tries DO Xpand under Xcessive speed, it was NOT touching when I had put it all back together. I just need to ream out the fender mounting holes in the rear a little to allow the rear to sit down further, lifting up the front of the fender another 1/2" or so! No Biggie!
