      Congratulations!

Beers all around (root, for those who don't do the strong stuff) and a new keyboard for you (because I'm guessing it is a little worn after 4000 posts).
4000 posts of intelligent information... a MOST impressive feat!
(and I thought John spent a lot of time here)

Seriously though, I read a lot here when John isn't around to answer my questions and it always amazes me that your head is so full of such useful and diverse information.
      Thanks for sharing!

          A Tribute to the Guru

          Married to an XS Guru

I’m married to an XS Guru
          He’s found another wife
This one doesn’t nag or gripe
And brings joy into his life

          She takes him many places
Of which I could only dream
And when his mistress is full of gas
          He’s happiest it seems.

          When they’re out together
          We are left alone
          They are somewhere riding
While the kids and I are home

He returns all calm and happy
          Then sits at the computer
Where he meets with other guys
          Other XSive suitors

I still see him now and then
And kiss him on the cheek
          Just so he remembers
Who cleans his clothes each week.

          Okay... I'll stop now.

                Thanks TC!

If it weren't for your, and the other xsive guru's advice and tips, I would have given up by now. You guys make it so easy I have been able work on my XJ and do stuff I would never have attempted. (I am a tinkerer NOT a wrench turner!) You not only help me keep my bike running, you have saved me BIG $$!

THANKS and I hope to meet you and others some day soon.

I must chime in here too. Congrats to you. You guys really know your stuff. Maby I, as an aspiring XS owner, will be able to join your ranks. Well, maby in 10 years. You gurus have certainly done it all. I would venture to say that you know the bike better than the engineers who designed it. This is a benefit of riding an repairing them for many years, while learning the weaknesses(not too many) and the strengths. You advise us on how to repair and modify, you teach us how to maintain these bikes, and an important factor, you tell us especially what not to do. Keep up the good work.
