      Czekus21,

I didnt realize you live in SD, I lived and graduated in Sturgis, seen alot of Harley's there, and still rode my jap bikes, still do.
Thanks again for the center stand, now If I can just learn to get the bike on it by myself, I'll have it made.

True that Harley uses more parts from foriegn locales than previous. But then they had to in order to get their reliabilty ratings up.
        Not true.
All outsourcing is primarily cost avoidance.
Quality issues arise from process control. The Japanese drive their processes to lower tolerances. Mellicans tend not to do this because of the costs. Improved quality from outsourcing is a bonus (and usually a surprise). But nobody outsources to Japan or Germany anyway. Usually to China or Singapore and increasingly to India. All low wage countries manufacturing wise.

Hmmm that's strange. Last I heard Harley "outsourced" a huge project to the Germans. Porshe designed the V-Rod motor.

Yeah, they did outsource the design, but the manufacturing is in KC, I think, but most definately not in or at Porche. O/W them things would be $30K.
