Can't use this one as an example of protective gear in action! This is one lucky guy. Sure wish I knew what he was saying cause he was saying a lot of it!

THIS guy was luckier than ****!!! (IMO)

May 2005 when I was hit, I had an antenna go through my arm, and it took 6 months of phyical therepy before I could walk right or lift anything more than 10 lbs...

...my bike fared MUCH better: 4 dents in the gas tank, mangled exhaust system, and crushed fairing... a few adjustments and the biike was running great again.

Moral of the story: look out for OTHER drivers - they are NOT looking for you, and the last thing you might hear is them telling the police office "I didn't see the biker"... it's NOT *if* you'll be involved in an accident, it's *WHEN* (again, IMO *and* experience)

        Red Light Runners

Wildkat and I have started waiting a couple of seconds when we have to wait for a green light at an intersection, where we are first in line, because it seems that running a red light has become a national past time around here. Even when we have the light turn green just before we get to the intersection, we slow down and look to see if some idiot on a cell phone didn't attempt to stop when they had a red light. We see so many of them at the stop lights around here. We live very close to a mall and a couple of major intersections, and have to drive in those areas two or three times a day.

Can you imagine the outcome had that been a good Amurican ESSYOUVEEE? The car that hit him wasn;t a whole lot bigger than his bike. Had that been an XS he was riding, he probably would have faired even better.

it happened fast but from what i could see he flipped onto the car he could have easily pinned a leg between the bike and the car crushing the leg, anything could have happened, just lucky, he was very mad, i would have ran over to the xs and assessed the damage...

                  Soooo...
your F100 took no impact energy from the encounter... so you got all of it. The guys chewhatever was pretty banged up I guess, but the driver wasnt... and IMHO thats a bit more important. I dont want my family to sell my car when I die in a car crash with just a scrape of red pain on it.
I like my cars totalled and me walking away.
