  • Ooooh yeah . . . aaAHOOOOOoooo

There is an advantage to working nights . . . the commute home.

I love riding in the Texas summer nights. The completely deserted freeways are an additional plus. Ten, twelve, and even sixteen lanes wide, with nothing on them but me.

The massive interchanges . . . one of them 5 levels high and reaching heights around 150 feet . . . I regard this billion-dollar structure as my personal motorcycle jungle gym.

For some reason . . . on nights like this . . . the 20-mile commute home reads closer to 100 on the odometer. Strange. Something must be wrong with the thing. I ought to look at that someday.

Last night was crystal clear and we had a full moon...

After I dealt with the lycanthropy (the valk and I both suffer from it, which makes the nights of full moons particularly interesting) I went home and stuck my camera up the telescope's butt.

    See the pic.

    AAAAOOOoooooooooooo!

I know the feeling. It sure makes up for those long hours in traffic. These Texas nights sure cool down a lot too. And I have had similar problems with my odometer. Maby someone will figure it out. It seems that along with the odometer, the gas guage seems to malfunction also. On several occasions the ride home can indicate a half tank gone. Hmmm... Strange.

With all the smoke in the air from wildfires in this part of the world, we're seeing a spectacular orange colour with this full moon.
