    Doh doh doh doh doh doh doh doh doh

    I just found the bike i've been searching for. Its for sale in the local ads... http://www.avto.net/2004/motornaKole...asp?ID=999790#

    I called the seller and he says he wants bout $2500 US. A fair price even! (half the price they usually go for). Its the exact year/model I've been looking for. 1976 LeMans 850.

    AND I DONT HAVE THE CASH!

    DOH!

    Eh well.... maybe next year....

    I think we all know that tune!! When you do have the cash, what you want isn't available. Once the cash is gone, everything comes out of the woodwork.

      Thats a sweet rig. Back in the late 70's, there was a group of us with "exotic" european rigs like that. Group had the 850 Lemans, 2 Desmo SS Ducatis, 3 Laverda 1000's, 2 Norton's (one of 'em a John Player and Benelli Sei and a "kitted" 750 Honda. That was when triple discs and mag wheels were rare to see.

      Sad thing was the guy had the Lemans 2 days when he was showing off doing power slides in a dirt parking lot, hit the hard pavement and highsided it.

      The Desmos were beautiful machines. Top end between the Lav's and the Desmos was about equal. Desmos seemed much better in the twisties than any of the bikes (could have been the pilots to!). My Lav 1000 Jota was good, but pondurous compared to the Desmos and the Lemans.

      Those were great times. Lucky for me I outgrew it and survived.

        Back when I had my V35.... it was converted into a cafe racer.... it was sorta.... fun to the max or scared to death kinda thing. But I was never bored. I took a friends lemans 850 (yep, 76) for a spin... now that was FUN. Puts XS to shame. OK, I admit... his was a little bit tweaked, but still....

            It would be... but my contract runs out this month and I am out of income for a while. (vacation, house cleaning, got another XS to build... find another job).
            Besides, I never liked taking loans and stuff... only do that when im 100% when i will be able to pay it off.

            Eh well... there will be other bikes.... hopefully.
