    Bauer,

JP Honeywell is the owner/webmaster of XS11.com. Gary Granger "66" is his primary ADMIN assistant with much more access than I! So, either Gary may read this thread, or you can PM him with the info, and "maybe" he'll be able to make the changes, or talk JP into, but I don't know how busy JP is or if he'll be able to make time to make any changes anytime soon!

Yeah... also differences between models FAQ could use some updating.... and serial numbers ID.

Check the link for serial numbers, will try to translate the description: http://www.xs1100-frw.de/HOMEPAGE_03/Index2.htm

      XS 1100 2H9: 1978 - 1979 European Standard.
Black engine, Yamaha letters as a sticker, adjustable pick-up coils, Kickstarter, was painted in a single color.

      XS 1100 Martini of 1979:
Essentialy the same as 2H9 Standard. Unique Yamaha full fairing (kinda sporty), top part of the fairing turns with the handlebars/front forks. High wind protection. Available only in the color finish white/blue/red of the beverage manufacturer "Martini" Racing sport Ltd. 500 Martinis were sold in Europe, 150 in Germany, 100 in UK,150 in France and the rest were sold in other countries. Because of high demand, the fairing was made avaliable again in small numbers.

      XS 1100 2H9 of 1980: European Standard.
Same as 78-79 Standard, now with two-tone paint scheme. Gas tank colors: Macho Maron - Ivory, Indigo Blue - Ivory, New Yamaha Black - Ivory. Cowl, side panels and seat trims were ivory too. There was another model, which was not offered in Germany, but one sold predominantly into the Netherlands/Great Britain. The gas tank was darkgreen, also in Indigo Blue or ivory paint scheme, cowl and side covers are two-tone, also in the same colors. Seat trim indigo blue or darkgreen. These models were offered also 1981 as 3X0 with raised plastic tank emblems.

      XS 1100 (1.1) 3XO 1981 - 1982 European Standard.
VIN numbers staring at 2H9-14xxx, black engine, raised plastic tank, side cover and cowl emblems, non-adjustable pick-up coils, no centrifugal advance (? have to check on mine), no kickstarter (where the kickstarter used to be stored, there is a box with a chain and a lock for locking the bike) two tone paint scheme.

      XS 1100 S 5K7 1981-82 Sport
Different chassis and engine components, oil-air front forks and shocks can be adjusted by air pressure, smaller 15 liter gas tank, different seat, changed carburator, brakes, slit brake discs, Alu rims painted gold, round headlight from SR500, round instrument cluster without gas gauge, smaller turn signals/taillight, 2-piece handlebars, fenders and headlight chromed silver. Shaft/final drive longer (?) and short exhaust system.

      XS 1100 S 5K7 1981-82:
Similar to 5K7 described above, but all previously silver chromed parts are now in black chrome. Small handlebar fairing.

      XS 1100 RH + R 81 Sport for Austrlia-New Zealand
Same as european XS 1100 S (5K7) for Oceania.

      XS 1100 Police 80-82 for Austrlia-New Zealand
Police motorcycle with special equipment. Single seater with half fairing and cases. This motorcycle, or similar types were also in use in South Africa, Japan and Canada.

The rest are alredy described in XS11.com faq.
