I gotta tell ya, my XS is definitely the most versatile bike I’ve ever owned! I’d really like to ride it to the British Isles, but I can’t surf all the way there and there just aren’t any gas stations in the North Atlantic.
Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
    I've been riding since 1959.

    Hey Liberty,

    Great PHOTOSHOP work! To repeat a bad pun I read here a few years ago....I wouldn't Xpect anything less from a . . . . . . . .

    MUSSEL bike!!

Also, it's a good thing you're riding an earlier model, otherwise you would have had no hope since the later models were the "Tubeless" kind!

At least if you encountered any other bikers, you wouldn't have to "WAVE"!

    Dude, that's one "beachin' machine"!

I don't think that's what they meant by "Wet Sanding"?

Hope you dielectric greased all of your connectors, one of the worst gremlins is a "Rip Current"!

Okay Prom, I've cast the first round, do your best, or worst!

      "Somethings FISHY here.

      Thanks, T.C.
I wonder how he keeps his carbs from flooding ?
Has he properly adjusted his Floats?
Did he clean his carbs with Seafoam first?
Would hate to have his engine Seas (ok... wrong spelling, but close phonetically)
To prepare for the trip, did he replace his fuses with Breakers ?
What about getting his head ported ?
Take off the final drive and lube the propeller shaft ?
His XS must be water-cooled, though to looks like he still has the cooling Fins on the engine.
Better get rid of those pod air filters and return to the airbox with the Snorkle under the seat!
So he doesn't capsize... might need another Ballast resistor.
Be wary of unpredictable wildlife out there. Can be dangerous when Seals go bad.
I'm curious about that helmet, doesn't appear to have a DOT approved shell.
He may be old, but he's just a bouy at heart.

            Hope you don't get seasick. . . .

            Hey Prom,

I was rather sleepy when I posted my first salvo. How could I have missed Seafoam! I bow to the master, but knot before at least another stearn attempt!

To prevent flooding his carbs, he merely Pre-"sinked" them!
If his engine did "seas", he'd just need a breaker bar!
For running the beach his Slipstream fairing is adequate, but he'll really need a full WindJammer, hope he can find one on SAIL?
Also for comfort he'll need some CruisePegs and of course a CruiseControl, and some FOAM Grips!
And for his Trans-Atlantic trip, he better be using either some Continental tires, or at least some CruiseMax ones!
He really should invest in some FishTail mufflers!
And for night riding, he'll need some FogLights!
He shouldn't have to worry about his Octopus failing

Tired? At three in the afternoon? I was awake and posting at 1:30 in the morn. (I know for a fact, T.C., that you go to bed earlier than the "Waltons" do!)
              Punking the Pun King...
Let me set you strait on one thing. Though I'm barely keeping my head above water with all the projects here at home, (I'm rather Tide up with other things) but there's always time to prove to you that challenging me is a mistake of Titanic proportions. I can't fathom why you continue to do this. We should Pool our resources sometime.
Instead of always trying to be a Star, Fish around in your spare parts bins and try to help him out. No one can Tuna motor like you can!
I'm not trying to be a Crab ... you know my free-flowing nature.
As for the bike... maybe it would cost less to Ship it, instead? Oar maybe, not.
As for your suggestion of foglights, make sure he Runs a ground wire to the Light houseing first, and Anchors it firmly to the frame. Don't want to Scuttle his trip before it starts.
Glad that he's not wearing a full-face helmet... you know how they tend to Drown out trafiic noises. On the road, "No Man is an Island, and I'd hate for him to become a Navigational hazard to others.

Again, T.C., I Harbour no animosity toward you. But your Fleeting attempts to outdo me are getting quite Shallow. Really... Sub-standard.
Ok... I'll just Clam up for now.

                Photoshop???

This is how you reward my efforts? With PUNishment?
I was disappointed in how small the the photo turned out. I'm just learning about photobucket.com. I may try to post it again to see if it comes out any better.
                Any suggestions?

Love the banter, guys. I'm happy to have inspired you.
