  • Guess what....

I finally got me another XS.
    It's a european 1.1 standard in black/silver.
    It has 14.000 miles.
    It sat since 1986.
Looks like PO from Italy took it to a shop for a complete service. The engine cases seem to have been apart, alltho I'm not sure. Probbably a 2nd gear fix (just guessing). I guess the bill was too high and the owner never picked it up. Italian policy in those cases is, to take the bike to the junkyard.
A guy I know picked it up there in 1998, it had a new battery and started right up. It had an aftermarket headlight, mirrors and no instrument cluster. After an examination, all fluids were new, it had new tires (0 miles anyway), brake discs look like 14.000 miles, it needs a good polish and assembly. It's in boxes... stripped to the frame. Everything is still there tho, except instrument cluster, exhaust and middle drive (that I took for my 78E).
    Will post pics.

If it doesn't have an engine, it's not a sport, it's only a game.

Great score strom!! It's nice to see someone who can really enjoy a great bike, pick one up at a price he/she can afford.

Note the nice tire wear after I removed the engine guards... this thing can actually lean quite a bit with just me on.
