Well now BP has to shut down the whole freakin Alasken pipeline 'cause its rustin thru. I could hear every 7-11 in town rush out to jack gas up another nickle before the print was dry on the news. I guess it took them by surprise that a steel structure, run thru one of the harshest enviornments in the world would would actually start coming apart. This news was on the heels of reported record quarterly profits for the oil companies. The feds say they are going release some reserves, like thats going to bring the price down. I start this rant as I look at a reciept for a $14 fillup on my 80g, $36 fillup for a 13gal tank on a Cavalier. Dont even want to figure the cost to fill a tank on the Dodge that gets gleans a tidy 8-10MPG. I do what I can to make a gallon count. I can only imagine what this ballistic climb in fuel does to people that are already scratching to make ends meet. We all have to just grin and bear it I guess. Will I park my toys? No, but you can bet I will be alot more frugal with the gas pedal, no more full throttle blasts across the lake for a while. I suspect there will be no change in how I ride the XS. A guys gotta have some fun!!!

Hey don't feel bad ... I pay 1.04 to 1.07 a liter day in and day out here in Ottawa. If I fill my 96 Intrepid from empty I need close to 70 dollars in my pocket. it's 13 to 15 to fill my bike.

Well... was about to say that it wasn't that bad compared to the US dollar.. but looked at the exchange rate... ugh. Almost all my life I have gone to Canada and got an exchange of 27-27.50 for a US 20 dollar bill. It isn't even worth 22.50 Canadian now. You have my pitty Rob.
Remember whan I was on my honeymoon in Canada... first time I drove there. Got out on the highway and saw the "Speed limit 80" sign... WOO HOO!! Was doing close to 90 for several miles... wondering why in the crap I was passing everybody so bad... *Sigh.... Kilometers....

The exchange rate is great in my opinion. Of course, I live a LOT closer to the border then Ottawa. Wife bought a hundred US yesterday, only cost her 114.xx Cdn. She filled the van up, cost $40US, would have been close to $80Cdn!!Brian
