  • phenomenal 'piece of history' XS11

...anybody remember that '78 XS11 Standard that went on eBay with **********ONLY*********** 711 miles on it?!??
Yeah, that's correct: Seven Hundred Eleven miles !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw a XS11 fairing on Craigslist (for a great price), AND it was advertised "Like New" - it *SURE* was... but the wonderful thing about the trip to pick up the fairing was seeing this bike - it is TWENTY NINE years old and I was *stunned* how great it looks!

I, for one, would LOVE to see this bike on the road. The new owners, needs some parts:

-78 Standard petcocks (the bike showed up W/O them - ?)
-Brackets for all 4 turn signals (because of the fairing and the rear rack all the turn signals weren't there...)
-Grab bar, to lift bike on center stand. (rear rack replaced it)
    -Helmut lock. (it was MISSING!)
-Hold down braket/nut for battery. (it was missing also)
The PO did some real BONEHEAD things by taking these parts off.

The new owner, Ed -goes by eleven - IMO he should go by 711

...anyway, anybody have some of these parts to help Ed out?
    I told him about BikeBandit.com , www.oldbikebarn.com , Partsnmore.com

...wait till you see THIS bike - I was STUNNED...

some more info for you Ed (eleven)

I've purchased a LOT of stuff from Bike Bandit: http://www.bikebandit.com/partsbandit/OEM-Parts.asp

and was checking their website out and they have ALL the parts you need for the rear turn signals (rubber mounts included):
(I tried to put the 'link' here; it didn't work - just look under "Flasher Light" and you'll see all the parts you need)

this is another good webPartsPlace - Parts N more: https://www.partsnmore.com/cat_index...100&category=x

andreashweiss also sells a lot of parts on the XS11 site - good source for some of the hard-to-find stuff

and of course you'll need a fork brace: TKAT fork braces: http://www.tkat.com/forkbrace.html

      ...this should get you started...

I almost bought that bike when I started looking but getting it into Canada was going to be too much trouble. I was also worried about how long it had been in storage cause the pic was taken in front of storage lockers. I noticed that the turn signals were missing and guessed that the bike had been dropped at some point in the past. I say this because the paint on the body parts was also not a match. not in the pic anyway. However it did indeed look to be in great overall condition .
