los angeles to san francisco ride

me and planedick are riding up the 5, fri aug 4th and will stop in san jose to see one of my friends for lunch, then to san francisco, any of you northern californis xsives want to get together saturday the 6th am or even sunday the 7th for a ride or a cool drink, let us know.

on our way back were coming down sunnyvale to the "bix restaurant" then the coast to santa cruz and ending up at "the whole enchilada", where i hear all the bikers hang, correct me if i am wrong for you northern ca guys, then to salinas and the 101 to l a. by noon sunday

The whole enchilada is a decent place, but not that much of a "biker" hang out. You should go out Skyline after you leave SF via 280. Take it down about 25 miles to "alices resteraunt". THAT is a "biker" hang out. on a weekend, you may have 75 to 100 bikes of all types parked there. The road there is pretty good on the 11, but a little tight in places.
You can then follow alpine road( I think thats the one) down to highway 1, and then go south to the Salinas cut off. That would be about 2 1/2 hours from alices to Salinas, and a great ride.
Just a thought. I won't be able to catch up with you, as I'll be in fort bragg, up on the north coast.
