    Did you know????

You understand don't you, that changing the exhaust system presents a whole new set of challenges? Darn thing won't run for s**t and requires a lot of carberator tinkerin' to get it to run like it should. I don't think you will have any trouble getting rid of the stock system, but you may regret it later. Best rule is, "Stock is best".

      Hey Dick,

Such a naysayer!? About a year after I got my bike back in the states from Japan where I was stationed, I got rid of my OEM pipes, and put a 4-1 system from JCW, I think it was a MAC but no name plate, black ceramic coat. I didn't change a jet, had OEM intake filter box, ran just fine for another 7 years.

Then after Big Bore kit, put Indy filters, just put in 3 main jet sizes up, and runs fine. Regrettably I don't have a 4-2 Set to trade, but hopefully someone might.?

Top cat ... when you say you put Indy filters are you referring to "pod" right on the carbs? I have been told to avoid this due to ride-abilty issues. If in deed this means pods how do you find ride-ability?

How good is your OEM set? I'm looking for one but it needs to be solid. Consider cash instead of trade? Tommy gpslaser@yahoo.com

I've got a 4 into 1, not sure if you would consider that instead of the 4 into 2...

What do you mean by ride-ability? With the pod filters, you will run leaner than with the stock airbox, so you may need a size or 2 bigger for your main jet, but I wouldn't go back to the stock airbox for anything. One more time of trying to wrench those carbs out of the boots and airbox, and I was going to take a sledgehammer to them anyway... lol. It takes 2 or 3 minutes to take off carbs now, and the motor has a nice growl now in the low end. I am buying a better set than Partsnmore has...(That don't restrict the carb throat down to 43mm from 54mm) they don't work very well on mine. Aperaceparts.com is supposed to have a true K&N copy for just 20 bucks more. Part#005-121 for $59.95 a set of 4. I will be ordering them tomorrow and will report on how they work. The current ones work well as a rev limiter for me! lol. Won't let me get above @6800 RPM's. They are choking the poor beast to death at higher RPM, but they have given me around 5-6mpg more than the stock airbox was.
