• Identify yourselves

I've been seeing more and more XS11's in eastern S.D. but I only know of 2 members in a hundred mile radius of Sioux Falls. Me and Dewibp. Of course I have moved to Madison,about 45 miles north of Sioux Falls, I have seen an "E" model parked in front of this guys house. One day, when I have time MIYAMI and I will have to go and introduce ourselves. Would be nice to have a name, or meet on this forum first. You know who you are and there's no need to continue lurking. Ya got a nice bike and really need to show it off. blue/silver tank with flames, Fat boy pipes with fins....
Next bike was back in Sioux Falls yesterday. Another "E" model with hard saddle bags. Brown, Woman on the back, at a stop sign with a crotch rocket next to ya. N. Minnesota ave and Brookings st.....
A really nice "SG" model I see throughout town all the time but never have the time to "wale" ya down. Naked version, Black,...
and finally, another "SF" model at some apartments I used to live in by Sertoma Park. Ya were haveing problems a few years ago with your carbs and came down to my garage were I sunk em up. I forget your name but if your lurking, You know mine. Your bike is naked, black, Big fat touring seat.
Be nice to round up the XS's and have an XSive cruse or suck down a few frosties and talk shop.
I'll continue to look out for XS's. And, Just in case you happen to NOT know who I am Here's a pic

Czekus,

Where was the photo take? Looks neat, like an excuse to ride there. If it's in South Dakota it's close enough.

Sorry to step on your thread Czekus, Wyoming via black hills. Just went through there couple weeks ago,,but you have to go through souix falls and rapid city then through black hills via keystone deadwood sturgis the only way to fly (on two wheels), awsome country compared to area I'm at. I think that Czekus will agree (hope so anyway,,I again apologise ..

"...stand and unfold yourself." (Hamlet: Act 1, Scene 1)

Ahh, Czekus, good fellow...
Many a timid heart wishes to remain hidden in darkness and solitude. To unfurl one's colors is to invite intrusion. Many souls, weary of their wretched lives, wish to remain hidden from mortal eyes. To unfold... and remove their identity's protective cloak, is to invite undue familiarity, when the will might not be forthcoming. For many, " 'tis a consummation (not) devoutly to be wish'd.
I, too... have been witness to several like steeds of steel on the by-ways of my shire. Fellow landsmen, no doubt, but busy... off doing the King's business, each catering to one's own affairs. With nary a "Hullo', less a "How's your carbs?" passing their lips, not knowing the true fellowship of the Eleven Hundred.
They may lurk... and cover themselves in the shadows, but like you, friend Czekus, I know too, where they dwell.
When the time is proper, or the dire need arises, they shall present themselves, and be welcomed, of this I have no doubt.
I, too, lived on the outskirts of this citadel of knowledge for many a season's passing, peering in through knotholes in the fence, not realizing the gates were always open.
Give them way, Czekus, for they soon may see their folly, in a time and manner suited to their hearts.

(Sorry... read about the upcoming "Shakespeare Festivals" in the morn's paper)

That's Devils Tower in the background. Outside of Hullett Wy. I've been there a few times and still can't spell. Anyway, Was a good trip. Planning on going agian to update the pic. Around Sturgis time. The XS on the left is Stall87 's bike and that's a beeeemer behind it.
Never got into Shakespeare but O.K. I agree. Some people just want to remain in the shadows, afraid that the black helicoplers are going to find them and take em back to the area51.

Wyoming uh, well that might be pushing it. Kinda like going to look at Chimney Rock in western Nebraska and coming back in one day. Didn't get to smell the flowers. Well I'm planning on making a pass though the corner of South Dakota in a couple of weeks even without an excuse. Run the roads as close to the river as I can, up to Picks Town.

Ugh... ok.... "Identify yourselves" <<<<< I'm the idiot!

Here is what TC is refering to. When re-installing my head (I really need to swap out the one on my shoulders) I looked at the book, and on two DIFFERENT pages... I saw this...

And this...

So I torqued the damn things to 14 Ft pounds. For some reason, my head gasket leaked oil on one side... so asked TC if it would hurt to take off the cam chain tensioner, leave everything else connected, and undo all the head bolts, then re-torque them. He told me to make sure I do it in 2 stages.. 14 Ft #'s first... then 25 Ft #'s. I told him that my book said to only tighten to 14... but that I would do what he said.. (He is of course a Guru!) He told me to go actually READ the book. I had apparently just looked at the pretty pictures... and thought I knew the whole story.. WRONG!! If I had turned to the previous page on both those references... I would have seen this...

Suddenly.. my head gasket doesn't leak!

Does Shakespeare come with pretty pictures??

No Tod, no pretty pictures, but the whenches can be nice on the eyes. And yes, Shakespeare is needed, as a GURU must have a well rounded education. After all, we must be able to read the manual, so we can copy it back from memory when the next person on the board needs the help.

"To sleep... perchance, to dream."

"To be or not to be".... but what exactly WAS the damn question??
T'was a question of suicide, TRBIG. If I may, with your indulgence:

To be, or not to be: that is the ques-
tion:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and, by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the
rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may
come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause. There's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of
time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's con-
tumely,
The pangs of disprized love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office, and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;

(Actually, I just read it for the insults!)

Thou elvish-mark'd, abortive, rooting hog! Richard III
Out of my sight! Thou dost infect my eyes.
Richard III
Thou loathed issue of thy father's loins!
Richard III
Thou art unfit for any place but hell.
Richard III
Drop into the rotten mouth of death.
Richard III
[Thou art] pigeon-liver'd and lack gall.
