I will be taking Sunday the 2nd off. That means I can:

a: Leave Saturday afternoon, motel it, meet people, ride, head home at closest point for me.

    -or-

b: Leave early Sunday morning, meet at Carrows (or even some point along the way), motel it, ride home Monday.

I can only stay one night. Tuesday I have to get kids off to school.

Seems that most of the traffic would be Friday, especially the evening, and on Monday evening.
Anyone heading this way is more than welcome to stay here. We have a sofabed, yard for tent(s) if so desired, swimming pool, movie stars..... (oops, too far). Sorry, the hot tub is out of commission at the moment.

I do like camping but a ride this close I don't want to tote much stuff (just what would fit in the tank bag).

      E.Liberty,
my shop is ~4 miles from Pat Kelly's, and I live 14 miles south in Turlock. We have a spare bedroom/bath if you want to stay at our place... SWMBO doesn't want to go on this trip (she doesn't know what she'll miss )

Pat just stopped by my shop and we're trying to figure out a good time to start out, meet up with others and where to stay...
We were thinking about leaving extremely early Sunday and riding all day, stay in S.lake that night and ride some more the next day before heading back...

...since the Carrows is off of hwy 50 it might be better to take 50 all the way from the valley into S.lake - great riding

...anyway - see you guys up at Tahoe...

I'll be there Ed. Thanks for taking the reins on this. Your right, I've been tied up with a lot of work and a house to landscape. But no baby yet. My dad, Paul, will be in on it too. But I don't think my brothers gonna make it.

A little correction Ed. Paul(Dad) has his brother in town that weekend, so he doesn't think he'll be riding with us, but hopefully he'll at least meet us for breakfast or something. I've got a Def Leppard concert on Sunday night, but I'll ride with you during that day. Sat. I might be working, but I'll see if I can be off. Oh, and the Motel 6 worked great for us last year..... I wouldn't recommend the Best Western... LoHo, and online reviews say it Sucks!

                  Ride to Tahoe

Hey, this is shaping up nicely! How does this sound:
I ride over Saturday morning and meet Loho, and Uncle Spot at Pat’s or some easy to find restaurant nearby for breakfast. From there we:
                  A- Ride up 99 to meet Knewsome in Sacramento, and jam up 50 to Tahoe, or;
B- Meet Knewsome somewhere around Lodi and we take the scenic and hopefully less traveled route up 88 to 89 and into Tahoe. This is the route DiverRay and I took last year and I don’t recall traffic being a problem.
Speaking of DiverRay, that bro knows how to live. I went by his place Saturday afternoon. His bike was there but he and his Zodiac were gone. He comes back from an Iron Butt ride and takes off abalone diving without taking a day off to rest. I haven’t talked to him since he returned so I don’t know if he will be able to make the ride or not.
I found out yesterday that an ex neighbor some 15 years my junior, without any serious health problems died of a heart attack while scuba diving. Live it while you can lads: carpe diem!
By the way, I wouldn’t mind sharing a motel room with someone to save expenses. Motel 6 sounds good. I hear they will leave the light on for us.
                  Keep the rubber side down!

                    ride to Tahoe

I vote for B: Meet Knewsome somewhere around Lodi and we take the scenic and hopefully less traveled route up 88 to 89 and into Tahoe. much more scenic than 50 IMHO

...my shop (Modesto) is 1 min from hwy 99 - there are 11 breakfast places within 3 min...
...we can take 99 north to Lodi, catch 12 - to 88, and that'll take us into Tahoe...

We only have 4 weeks from today - let's make some plans.

Pat, Yes... it's the one on 50, about a mile or two east of the "Y".
They had plenty of room for us last year and no complaints from anyone. It was about $80 a night. I don't think you can do much better than that for a decent place to stay.

I just reserved a room at Motel 6 for Sat and Sun night.
Plan is for Ron and I (and anyone else) to leave from my work at Doctors Medical Center In Modesto when I get off at 2 pm.
Ron, if you want to leave at an earlier time to meet with others (in Lodi) along the route I can play catch-up.

I can pretty much meet up whereves on Saturday.... I'll have to take off on Sunday at some point, however - got tickets to the Tool concert in Oakland that night.

If you guys want to meet up at a breakfast joint in Lodi or thereabouts, I'm totally down - just let me know when and where.

                              Gr-r-r-r!

Things are suddenly looking “iffie” for me. The sweet contract that I thought was a “done deal” fell through. I need a front tire for my bike, and I haven’t made reservations for a room or campsite. (You guys should check your private messages occasionally: I emailed all interested parties several days ago regarding accommodations, etc.) My work has ground to a halt, and no bucks coming in.
I’m going to copy and paste a message from Jerry regarding contact info for the campground where he stayed last year. That may be my best bet if I can’t share a room with someone.

                              Edgar:

                              Campground By The Lake
