I am at a loss, any time is too soon, and I didn't get to ride with him.
my condolences to his family anf friends.
I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Going Small, not just for the little guys.
The wake is Thursday July 27th from 5pm untill 9pm.
The funeral will be on Friday the 28th and I am still confirming the time, but it looks to be at 3pm maybe. We are looking to get a military honor guard as Dave served in the United States Air Force.
Dave was never a "suit and tie" kind of guy, so I am guessing that the wake and funeral will be "riding attire." I'm sure he would have wanted it that way.
The wake and funeral will be at the Klein Memorial Park located at:
14711 FM 1488 Rd
Magnolia, TX 77354
(281) 252-3428
For those folks who want to make a donation, other than to the family, the family has requested that you make a donation, in his name, to either the American Lung Association at: www.lungusa.org or the American Heart association at: www.americanheart.org.
We are planning a dedication ride after the funeral for anyone who wants to ride with us.
I will post a map soon, and we can pick up people along the route or we can all meet at the funeral.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to leave me a PM or you can e-mail me at xs11rider@hotmail.com.

I was heartbroken to hear the news of our TeXSive brother Dave's passing. He has been to every TeXSive rally over the last several years and was a great guy, great rider and always fun to hang out with.
He will be sorely missed by Nancy and I. His family is in our prayers.
Here is Dave enjoying the afternoon in Kemah at our last ride in April.
You can see Dave here. He is in the middle leaning on his very clean XS Full Tourer. He was very proud of that bike and had put alot of work into it.

It is always sad to hear of a brother passing. Please pass my condolences to his family. Thankfully his passing sounds peacefull. His photo looks familiar, I probably met him at a New Mexico or Colorado rally unless he came north.
Is the family in need financially? If so I will be happy to paypal a little. (I will help the family but a donation to a cause just for the sake of sending money doesn't work for me, sorry I'm not that rich nor do I equate cash to condolence)
Thanks for the kind words. They are not hurt financially, that I'm aware of, but rather than having flowers delivered, etc, it was suggested that we collect a donation from the XSives.
The family also said a donation to the above mentioned organizations would be fine too.
Just a kind word is really enough, though. We don't want anybody to feel like they have to donate.
Hope this helps,
greg

I never met Pathfinder, but as I read all the kind words I find myself truely sad at his passing. It is amazing how much this forum means to me. I have only actually met and ridden with one other member, but I feel connected to everyone on here as I read your posts.
Buy a bike....get a family..what a great deal.
I hope you will pass on my sincere condolences to Dave's family and I echo Gray Wizard's thoughts. I am sure he is up there now in the wind.
God bless him, his family and all of you.

Greg, I talked to the family and I think the best ride for them will be from the cemetery Take FM 1488 up to SPUR 149, right, run this down to FM 149, which turns into 249
take 249 to 2920 and turn right in Tomball, 2920 to Telge rd, take the left onto Telge to Huffmister to the house.
This will enable the family to meet at the house.
We can use the school parking lot to decide what to do next
If you could post this I would appreciate it
as always, you can reach me on cell 281-728-4172
Thanks
Bobby

Not only to the family, but also to the group here.
Pathfinder was one of the first to respond with support for John and our family after John's accident last year. For that, I have my own fond memories of him.
I know many of you will never have an opportunity to meet a lot of the riders here in person, but there is an obvious connection between many of you. In our everyday lives we don't usually get as close to people as the relationships that are built here at the XS11 site through the love of these bikes.

If I can make at least one person smile, or pee their pants a little, or maybe spit out their drink; then my day is not wasted.
This is a follow up a thank you if you will. To Cindy Delzell thank you for sharing your husband with a bunch of TeXSives bikers from time to time and making us feel at home, in your hour of need. And thanks Skippy344 (Greg) for the pictures and posting you put together it was a fine tribute. David ( Pathfinder) we will see you on the other side, and as David would say, remember each time we ride “this is our Sunday go to church”
We are truly saddened by the news of Daves passing and his family will be in our prayers. I just logged in and saw this posting. I only met him once, in April on the TeXSive ride in Galveston, when my wife and I arrived at the restaurant, he came over and sat with us and introduced us around to some of the other riders there. I had only met Webbcraft2150 before then, so I didn't know many people in the group, he made us feel welcome.

Thanks to all of you who donated to Pathfinder's family.
A card was given to Cindy on Thursday night with the collection. I printed your sentiments, that you left in the PayPal note section, so she could see how much of an impression Dave left with the XSives.
She was truly moved by you all.
I will post a few pics soon.
