  • newbie...sort of...

Yea I'm new to XS1100 land...but not XS land. I've been on the triples site for a couple of years when I got my first XS 750. Then I gave them to my younger brother, moved to CO a couple of months ago and saw a sweet 79 1100 for cheap. The CBMMA would be proud of the $$.

Not sure of the best way to post a pic on this site yet...

Welcome, and don't worry, we all screw up. I think you'll find the 1100 a little different than the triples, sort of like a freight train and a bullet train....

Rusty, welcome aboard. You will love this site. Every new person who shows up raves about it is one of, if not the, best sites out there. It is the Guru's here . To post pics, you need an off site host. I recommend photobucket.com. Once you upload you pics there, it even writes the html code, so all you have to do is cut and paste it into your posts. Or you can hit the image button above the posting box and cut and paste in the url address of you pic. Good luck here. There are no stupid questions here. In fact, most topics have probably come up before, so it is always good to try a search first. (especially about tires).

            Thanks Fellas!

            Here's a pic of my 79...
She's got 53K on the clock and everything seems to be in great running ordrer so far. Second gear is a little clunky (like all XS bikes) and the carb boots could probably be replaced but she runs like she should... smooth and powerful!

She's been jetted for altitude and has a 4-1 exhaust (not sure which one though yet)...I'm hoping to find a chrome air cleaner like the one I had on my XS 750 so I can get rid of the air box but I may end up just going with pods.

She's got the Windjammer fairing and Vetter saddle and top bags...I'm not crazy about the bags, little too funky looking but hey for $875 bucks who's complaining!

I hope the photobucket link is working...

              Good pic Rusty, sweet 79

              very clean for 53K.

My 80G weeps oil in several places so every week it needs a little tlc.
