  • 1979SF looking for a good home.

I really hate to do this, but I'm moving to Manhattan to go to graduate school and don't have room/time for my bike anymore. So I'm selling it. I figured I'd offer it up on this site before I post on Craiglist or Ebay.

Basically I'm selling my 1979 XS11 SF. It looks like it has 32k miles on it, but right after I got it, the speedo broke, so it has about 10k miles more than that. $1000 obo. And it has currently been sitting (not intentionally) for the last year due to some fuel system problems.

Some other things wrong with it:
-My mufflers blew open last year, and so I attached some stock Harley baffles onto the headers.
-It'll need new tires, and probably a new battery
-The speedo doesn't work right now (I have a new drive unit, but the PO put the wheel on incorrectly, and broke the part on the wheel that fits into the drive unit).
-the yamaha logo seems to have gotten busted while covered (in the pic). Might be repairable.

PO redid the paintjob, using a newer type of paint, and I have some of that left. Also, I have a spare starter, a spare pair of forks, the original airbox, the fairing, and a windshield that all come with this bike.

I'm asking $1000 for it. I paid over twice that, but it currently isn't working, so I don't think that I can sell it for as much as I paid for it.

Also, you'd need to be able to pick this puppy up from Austin.

If (and when) one of you guys buys this rig and can't pick it up right away. I am willing to store it for ya at my house in Austin. (This is a real offer). Don't worry about parts missin from it, I ride a 80g and nothin would fit. Besides, the look on my wifes face when see opened the garage door and saw another bike in there would be priceless.
      When a 10 isn't enough, get a 11. 80g Hardbagger
