  • NGK spark Plug caps

Does anybody out there know the correct part #'s for the 2 different caps required for 78E. On the stock coil there were two different length 90 degree caps. I did the coil rebuild with 7mm wires and can't find the correct caps. I run with a radio so I would like to keep the static down as much as possible. Also a good source for them.
There's always a way, figure it out.

I bought four of the 90 degree 5K caps from MikesXS at: (352) 540-9205. I think the part number was 23-3113 (NGK LB05F) @ $2.50 each. I used these with the stock wires.

The inboard and the outboard caps are different lengths. The outboard caps are 90 degree and short. The inboard ones are about twice as tall with a 30-35 degree angle.

          plug ends

My local bike shop had an asortment. Different lengths, 90 and 45 degree angles. I went with 45s on the middle plugs and 90s on the outer.

The only thing to look out for is the connection to the plug terminal. Some ends required a teminal cap on the plug and the others connect to the threads on the top of the plug.

Randy, on my 78E the caps are different lengths like you say but they are both at 90 degrees. Two inners are made by Denso out of Japan and the outers are not marked. I didn't change them and I doubt the PO changed them, the bike only had 6000 miles when I got it.
Will the short ones be ok, thats all I've been able to find?

              Plug Caps

I would think that as long as the caps are in good shape and don't short out in the rain, are long enough that they do not draw the plug wire up to tight those short caps should be fine.
