    anyone know the difference, with the chrome that on the tools and the chrome on our bikes, do they used the vanadium version on harley davidsons?

    The vanadium is added to the steel. Chrome is actually a clear plating over a nickel plating.
    There is chrome, and hard chrome. Hard chrome is used on fork tubes, so they will not wear out with the seals sliding up and down on them.
