The owner of the local bike shop back in NY will be there. He rides his Norton with the sidecar full of stuff and a pickup follows with all the goodies. His name's Paul, he's a GREAT guy and deals mainly in Triumph/Norton stuff. He's vintage all the way and probly the fairest guy on prices you'll ever meet. I mean, He'll take a part off the wall that's CLEARLY priced, cock his head to the side, and tell you a price less than the tag says. Last visit there, I bought an 8 dollar tube and a 160 dollar tire for $70 plus balancing...another 10.
He's a skinny dude, wears glasses and has mostly grey "salt and pepper" hair. You'd know if you met him. If you do, tell him I said hi and you'll get a familiarity discount. I'm the ONLY one in my area with an XS1100 so he'll know just who you mean.
You all have a lot of fun there at Vintage days. Be careful and bring back memories...

Some people have one of those days, I have one of those lives...
There was one XS1100 spotted at the meet!
I personally didn't see the bike but Lorax spotted it. I carried enough cash to buy a decent bike but came home with the cash and no bike.
The event was great and i got to see a lot of friends and thousands of great looking bikes.
I took two hours of video and a few pictures.
My nine year old had a blast and came home with a bag full of gifts from the people he meet there.
I will try and get a few pictures up later this week. Roy

Roy,
I want to thank you for your hospitality up @ VMD. had a great time, enjoyed meeting you, your son and all the other fine folks who were hanging out with you this weekend. To all who live within a few hours drive, this is an event of near epic proportions. if you like old bikes, it's almost mandatory, saw more BSA's, Triumphs, and Nortons than one can shake a stick at. it is truly a good time, there are manufacturers there with demo rides if you are looking for something new, and a huge swap meet. Saw a gas tank for a midnight special, some side overs for the same, side covers for other years also. If you are semi close, make the trip next year, you won't regret it. thanks again Roy for the hospitality, was a pleasure meeting you. Have a nice day and ride safe
Stop by again next year. There is always a cold drink and a bite to eat if you can talk someone into cooking it.
The fellow from Australia is coming back to race . He use to race H2'S so he ought to be alright.
One young man showed up on a bike he had rode from Chicago and the bike was running bad and his rear brake linkage broke.
Jeff Saunders from Z1 entprises had every part to replace the brake parts. I donated a set of GS carbs that had been converted to Kawasaki choke systenm to get him home. That is the same set i used to get Andys 650 fired up with. He brought a set for the 650 Sunday and we had the bike ready for sale before the day was over.
I didn't sell my pit bike but that is ok as the bathrooms are a long way off.
Oh yeah, Mitch Boheim dropped by Sunday to get feed back and input for magazine articles.
I hope to see more members up there next year. Maybe i can find a XS before then.
