This happened in our front yard. The Suburban mentioned is our Suburban and it was moved 30 feet, not 15' and is totalled. The Jeep missed the guy on the bike (a nice guy that I say hi to but really don't know him), backed-up, then drove over him as he was standing behind our Suburban. Wife did CPR on him till help arrived.

I wish this guy would have used a condom before he totaled our Burb.
Since our truck was old (1984) we only had PL & PD. There was no proof of insurance in his Jeep (we checked at the impound yard). Our insurance isn't interested in following-up on if he actually was insured.
We can't take him to small claims court because he's in jail and can't defend himself.
His house is for sale but we can't get a lien against it without a judgement which we can't get because we can't sue him while he's in jail (for murder).
Why do loopholesalways work against me?

Man that sucks. With the insurance racket... you make a claim on your homeowners insurance to fix it, and they will pay it then drop you... then no one else will touch you. It seems like you could pursue it yourself through the police using the VIN number or something... I must admit that I don't know anything about it though. I would contact my insurance company and ask them what you can do personally to get this info. If they won't help you... I bet there are plenty of other companies that would be glad to get your business. As a matter of fact, call one of them up... tell them what's going on. They may help you anyway... just trying to get your business.

Could get yourself arrested for jaywalking or something... then take it out of his A@@ when you got in there.... lol.

        Good luck.
