    Anyone ever try taking a 3.3 litre engine out of a Grand am before?
    Mine sounds like its got a piston pulled away from the connecting rod.

    Usually easier to drop the whole thing out through the bottom. Got to get the front up pretty high to clear the engine to drag it out.

      never done a 3.3 but I have done a quad 4 in a grand am.

      It was a pain.

        Yeah the car is in terrific shape and so was the motor till the wrong mechanic got at it......its a long story, but like I told the guy who worked on it, change the oil after you change the timing cover on the engine, he didnt now its ahastle with the shop that did the work......long story short....coolant mixed with the oil and seized a piston.....cause the guy didnt change the il then took it for a test ride.....
