looks awesome. I would have been paranoid as hell about my bike down there. Can you say disk lock and ignition disableing alarm.

a few addendums-there were sooo many things i was not able to get a pic of because there are NO shoulders to the roads in mexico. i would see smth that i felt needed to be on film, only to be forced to keep riding. also, as long as you're careful and aware, things are safe in mexico. i've taken the bike down 3 or 4 times and really never had any problems. happy riding, mark

Just goes to show you don't need a high $$ luxo touring rig to go, well, touring. Looks like it was a nice trip.

quite right, actually, with traffic(and economics) in mexico as it is, a huge pricey rig is a liability. most of the time, 1100cc is too much.

for almost 2 weeks, the whole trip cost just about 1000$. fuel and toll roads were the biggest expense. food is soooo cheap, even tho i ate like a king, and my average hotel cost was 25$ a night. i don't drink, but i would imagine spirits are cheap as well.

Rides a 79 and dosen't drink. What other nerve calming agent did you use between carb overhauls, pickup wire repair, another carb overhaul, brakes locked up, ect ect. We all would like to know.

spending 10 hrs a day on a bike riding 11000 foot passes, thru jungles, laying on a beach, exploring aztec/mayan ruins, in a foreign country usually does the trick. teehee

Did your trip (have your trips) take a big difference in the altitude? If so, did you need to make any carb adjustments to compensate?

heck yeah, from sea level(beach), to 11k ft mountains, but the old girl took it all in stride.
