Year and a half ago I lost a saddle bag top........today a road crew was doing a cleanup on the section where I lost it......low and behold one of the boys found it and propped it up against a guard rail post! Had I not been driving by that particular spot at the right time it would have been tossed in the garbage truck along with tons of other litter! Whats the odds? Now I have a spare! And nope it aint for sale guys sorry.....

      "Lost and found"

      Great story, Bruce.
A coupla years back, I was restoring an XS850 Special (making one, out of two)and trying to decide which dented tank to fix up. Later that week, I was walking the dogs about a block from home, and there, sitting in the gravel by the side of the road, was a perfectly sound 850 Special tank!. Ugly paint scheme, but undented... even had a yard sale sticker on it... said $10.
Good fortune smiles on those who deserve it. Sometimes it screws up and even gives ME a break, too.
