  • New TCI's from England

There's a motorcycle electricals shop in Liverpool, England that makes the CDI / TCI / Blackbox / Brains for a variety of bikes.

Well, they're now offering brand new XS1100 TCIs in both flavours 2H7 and 4R0 for 'only' $245.

    Check out their eBay auctions

Very interesting. I just sent the seller a question about the advance electronics. As we all know, the 4RO units had advance biult-in to the TCI. When I get the response, I'll post it.

Well, they finally answered my question (NOT).

Their answer leads me to believe that they don't know about the advance electronics in the 4RO. Here it is:

hi,we borrowed a 2h7 bike from a customer, made cdi for it and tested it on our dyno.another customer sent all his ignition bits to us of a 4r0 bike for comparison to the 2h7 bits, they were the same, apart from the cdi unit,2h7 bikes run a ballast resistor for the coils via a diode in cdi unit[full 12 v to coils on cranking].4r0 bikes do not have this item fitted.sent one to customer who has not called to say it did not work, has your bike got mechanical and vacumn advance fitted?

I'd venture to say that the tci will work on a 4RO, you just won't have any advance. Then again, as we have discussed before, you can retrofit the advance mechansims from a 2H7 and you'd be good to go!
