    Steve, where is a good place to get some 4 wire waterproof connectors? I'm going to try to build a prototype P/U coil wire harness with a nice heavy sheathing.

      I'm interested too. We have plenty of them in aviation, but a crimp tool might cost more than a good XS11!

        I was thinking along the line of weatherpak connectors, can probably get away without a special crimper...

          Those look like the Amp/Tyco plugs..... They use the same type of stamped pin/sleeve connectors for sure. These are finicky to install, and you do need the proper crimp tool for them. Although you don't need the $150 one they have listed, the one Geezer sells will work with a bit of screwing around (buy spare terminals, as you'll have about 10% waste without the 'real' crimper). If you don't get the wires crimped on right, the seals won't fit (BTDT). You do need the 'special' tool to remove the terminals from the plug, you can't 'rig' that. I've had the locking tabs break off of these too.

          If cost is a big consideration, these will work but just aren't as heavy-duty or easy to install as the Deutsch plugs...
