  • Yahoo group for XS11

    http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/xs11/
    · The XS11 mail list is a place to share useful (often technical) information about the Yamaha XS1100 and XJ1100 motorcycles only - This site says closed for all postings but I posted my pictures there today, successfully.

I believe that is the original group that this forum broke off from. I know it originated as a Yahoo group, and the old group is still there.

That is correct, sort of. The old yahoo site was shut down when we moved over to this version of the forum. There was quite a bit of discussion at the time, with lots of folks on either side of the fence on whether or not it was a good idea. To this day, I remain the moderator/caretaker of the Yahoo list.

The Yahoo group preceeded this current version, but even it was not the origin. "Back in the day" when I discovered the XS11 fraternity, we used a mailing list service called majordomo, and there were only about 35 of us in total. With membership in this latest version sitting at a little over 6000 subscribers, approaching 274,00 posts, we've come a long way. Wouldn't you say so, Sid?
