79 Rewire

I bought my 79 with 48k miles on it! It's my first big bike from a old virago 650, the problem is the gentleman who had it before me tried to slaughter the electrical system, due to that I'm going to have to install new gauges, turn signals and headlamp, how easy is it going to be for me to gut the electrical BESIDES the ignition control/ and the firing for the spark plugs.
