They use the "Selective Forum Filter - vBulletin.org Forum" or a form of it. As a user you can select which forums you wish to view or other options. You can also use an option to view topics or sections you normally don't follow whenever you please. I am sure it is similar to our iggy list on here in a lot of ways.
Not that I dont follow all of the forums here. Its just that some people would rather not see certain topics and this gives them an option. I would like to see it initiated if possible.2-79 XS1100 SF

TC just pointed me to this thread. That selective forum filter looks pretty nice, and is supported. I don't see any reason why I can't install it.
I'll plug it into the sandbox and see how it runs, if all is good I will install it soon.80 XS1100SG

OK, it's up and running.
To select the forums you want to exclude, go to your control panel and go to the "Edit Options" link under the Settings & Options menu.
Scroll down and there will be a list of all the forums. You can hide whole categories, or individual sub-forums in any category.

Works and was very easy to setup, exactly like the instruction above says.
In fact it hides the selected forum from browsing view...at least I was not able to see the selected forum portion at all. Which was unexpected but now when thinking about it exactly how I like it.
Disabling the selection restores the full view.
It is still possible to go to the "hidden forum" just fine. I'm assuming links and such will work without an problem.
