Treat forum as read-only, upgrade pending

See the banner at the top of the site:

Forums will be upgraded, treat site as read-only.
The forums have been getting attacked by bad actors. They are taking advantage of issues in older versions of VBulletin. Sorry for the site going up and down over the last few days. Upgrading to a newer version has so far been unsuccessful and we are working with Vbulletin support to resolve the issue.
Until that upgrade is complete, the forum remains operational but website itself has been made read-only. You are welcome to publish new posts are replies but know that we may need to restore to a earlier backup so any new content would be lost. We have unfortunately already had to restore from a backup already.
I will remove this notice once the upgrade is complete and the risk of losing new posts is gone. Sorry for the headache. While we may lose a few days of content, we will keep all the other decades of content available.

Good news. Vbulletin support came through and we were able to successfully upgrade our forums without restoring from a backup yet again. Any posts from the last few days are still around. You no longer need to treat the forum as read-only. Thanks for hanging in there.
