    Fundraiser to upgrade the xs11.club

As you might have seen in dansmith65 's earlier post, we have a problem with spam registrations. We use vBulletin as the forum software for this site and upgrading to the latest version may help reduce spam through enhanced controls. We are on version 5 while 6 is the latest. Each major version upgrade requires a new license and the 6 license costs $179.

We don't run any advertising on the site, sell any products, or sell any user info. This site is not a business. I cover the hosting costs which we have kept minimal. But the $179 license cost equates to nearly 9 months of hosting costs. This is one of those rare instances where we are asking our members for financial support.

If you like the site and information you find here, please consider donating to our upgrade fund. We seek to raise $179, no more. I couldn't find a platform that enforces a maximum collection. To keep it simple, we are going with Paypal "Pools" to which users can contribute to as a guest if desired (no paypal account), and with which everyone can see how much has been raised. Thank you in advance to anyone that makes a contribution. The link to contribute is below.

Well that was quick! Of course adding a bit more could take care of some hosting fees.

          Why not?

Oh, wait. Just got a call from my bank, looks like they saw an unauthorized purchase on my debit card...

You guys rock! We hit our goal in no time. We will get started on the upgrade. We will be installing this on a new host so we can keep the existing site live until we cut over to the new one. It might take a few weeks, but we will get it done.
