Size is about max you woud want to post. For those like me who are still on 56K dial-up, photos take a bit of a wait to load; the bigger the photo, the longer the wait.
You might also limit the resolution to 72 or 96 dpi if you have not already done so. 72 dpi is a fairly standard resolution for web photos (in .jpg format, at least) and 96 dpi is the 'native' resolution of most Windows operating systems.

Also, the Pixel size is important, keeping it around 600 wide will usually prevent the need for side scrolling when it's posted!!
