here's a close-up of the dents on #3 (metal) and #4 (plastic):




the one marked "(old)" was given to me by a shop i had do a rebuild.... i think it looks better than these two above what do you guys think?

Plastic or Brass. I'm pretty sure they didn't use plastic till 80's but I've also heard you can use plastic no matter what. Regardless of the dents, do a hot-water float test and if they don't sink I don't see any reason not to use them mixed up. I've got 79 carbs and all mine look like your old one. They don't sink and it's not like you can see 'em so who cares what they look like. All that matters is that they float.

Did you expect a reply? You posted in the Feature Testing section instead of the "XS11/XJ11" section. Not sure if you're just trying to see if your pictures worked or something.
