    I'd ride a moped in a circle if that's all I had.

Poor reference to a common saying from the ancient times, before Al Gore invented the internet:

A circle the size of a bottle cap? Guess you wouldn't need much gas...

Bloomington area and the southern part of the state is beautiful. Not Kokomo.

Like gtem, I was depressed when I moved there from Dayton Ohio. Felt like I lived in the middle of a big cornfield - because I did !

I knew Freddie Marsh and this is how I'm going out. I will NEVER give up riding.

That's an incredible story! Now, how about some details on that bike in the photo!

gtem, I bought the 47 Chief as a basket case in 1991. I restored it myself (except paint. I can't paint). I always loved Indians because I live close to the original factory. Freddie had the oldest Indian dealership in the USA. When Indian went out in 53 he sold Norton and AJS. In his last years he sold Ducati and Moto Guzzi. I still have the first 1998 Guzzi EV1100 he imported. It now has 225,000 miles on it.

The Guzzi. Almost a quarter of a million miles. Been to Alaska. Only regular oil changes (I guess about 75. Every 3,000 miles). Never had to go into the motor. Sorry Harley guys.
