  • Front Brake Caliper Pistons and Seals

Hey everyone! I ordered the incorrect brake caliper pistons and seals for the front of my 1980 special. Turns out I have larger front calipers than my rear caliper. The parts are brand new K&L rebuild kits and the pistons are from a Canadian company called SCI, they look like high quality pieces. Heres a link to the pistons info:

Just paid 120 for all of this shipped. I would like to get $80 and ill cover shipping costs.

    Thanks

    Jim

In case you haven't found the correct part yet, this is what I just bought for the front caliper on my 80 Special: https://hvccycle.net/yamaha-xs1100-b...on-hvc200106f/. It matches the dimensions of my factory part perfectly. I also have the K&L BCF-205 (32-1605) caliper kit, which I haven't put on yet, but looks to be the correct size.

I had already found a received the HVC parts. I agree they are very well made and fit perfectly. I also got the same K&L kits which were great to, thanks for looking out though. Hopefully someone will want these other parts. All brand new and same high quality as the HVC brand. Ill have to be better in the future about fitments and not just go off assumption!!

I would also be interested in trading the parts for some 1980 special side covers if any good ones still exist, I would pay up or down depending on condition and asking price.

Glad to hear you found what you needed. One more thing I'll point out is the HVC piston for the rear seems too small. They list it at 38mm, but my piston was 38.15mm. The one you have seems to be a better fit at 38.10mm.

When I asked Brad at HVC about the size difference, he didn't respond so I re-finished mine instead and was able to get the scratches/pits out and keep the OD at 38.09mm.

In other words, if you need a rear caliper piston; the one you're selling is the one to get! (based on my bike/my measurements)
