      Dent Repair

I have used paintless dent repair on several occasions, but never on a fuel tank. I wonder if the same procedure could repair a fuel tank. Would be interesting to find out. I will ask around in the near future and see what I can come up with.

I guess the only limit to this type of repair is available access. There seems to be enough of an obstruction in the 1100 tank under the cap that could limit access to the dent. But maybe a dent in the lower side of a tank could be repaired through the petcock openings? Then there is always the dent "pull" method, but your looking at a paint job too.

I picked it up for 65 shipped. I was a moron thinking it was a standard. After studying the pic after working the deal, I realized it. So if anyone needs a tank let me know.....

At least I got a working cap for mine..

Hate to be the bearer of bad news Franky, but, the gas caps are different between special tanks and standard tanks.

              Mike,

I do not have the tools, technique or maybe the patience to pop a dent like that on an XS tank. I tried it on the tank that was on Ruby when I got her. All I did was put more smaller dents in the tanks around the lip of the big dent.

                I have a special already. I wanted a standard.
