Turning 60 soon. Want to spend more time riding, less time fixing.
Sadly, the Concours only has 18,000kms and still looks new. Shamefull.
Time to start ticking rides off the bucket list and impose on my friends.
The Diva will live on with other vice presidents.
          Thx BDF

That was the plan but I can't ride two bikes, and the modern Kawasaki technology has spoiled me. It is effortless and quick, even with a passenger.(Which is 99% of the time now)
You will still have the pleasure of our company at XS North 2014.

              Hi BDF,
Sucked in by the technology and advances over 30 years. It is hard to resist. Why not sell it as a complete bike it is almost finished. Surely someone would love to carry on rather than start with a rusty heap.?

Makes perfect sense to me Phil, but unfortunately there isn't a market for an almost finished bike. The parts however have value to those trying to repair or improve their bikes. Many XS1100's will live on due to the sacrifice of a single bike.
Or it could be said that the sum of the parts are worth more than the sum of the whole.

It is unfortunately true that there is more money in parting out these bikes than there is in selling the whole bikes. Good news is the NADA value on them is slowly climbing.

                    Hi Rick
You were spoiled after that first ride on the Connie...I know the feeling of being coddled in more comfort, power. and the ability to to ride at least twice as far as the XS could on one tank not to mention the wind and weather protection...resistance is futile...however I still have an old bike and it gets ridden aplenty...YMMV

                      Hi Rick,
You might want to rethink that 'part out Diva' thing. You are right to do something besides let it sit neglected, but. You may be like some I have seen, looking for another...

As a friend, I recommend you seek a second opinion from someone knowlegable and qualified before... Ask other foxs.
I have room in my garage for the XS and some new stuff (it is not the same.)

Anyway, FOXS seem to be always welcome. AS hamjam says, It is the people, really.

                        Hi Brent.
Sage advice as always from the Gentleman from Georgia.
After some sober second thought, I still think parting it out is the best way to go for me. I really want to get some serious saddle time in while I can. I even hope to drop by to see you. I do have another project helping a friend restore his 1972 Norton Combat Commando. The absolute best of everything for that bike, and I'm not paying the bill.
I'm comfortable with the decision and looking forward to moving on although I do plan on keeping my XS11.com friends.
Hope to see them all this summer.

                          Engine

The engine on my "79 XS1100 SF broke recently and I'm trying to find a new engine. Everything else is fine. I may only need the lower part because that's where the crank shaft shot out of the engine case but i'll take what I can get.
