  • Touring Package.

Bought this as a package thinking it would look good and fit my bike.
The seat does not match the lines of my frame and hits the side covers, same as last one I bought and sold. Just read crazy steves' explanation on seats, tanks, etc. and now understand why it does not.
Shipping is probably going to be expensive.
If interested in all or part please send me a PM with an offer. Thanks.

~Windshield needs to be buffed and needs brackets.

~Chrome pieces are pretty rusty. Paint is scuffed, needs paint.

        Hi Nathan.
The seller claimed everything came off a 79F. This is the second seat (identical) i've bought and it does not fit my F the right way. It sits so low you have to take it off to be able to take the side covers off. If you have a 78 I assume it won't fit correctly either. CrazySteve put a list of seats, tanks, covers, etc that I think brings up a difference in our frames from the rest.
This might be from a Special from what I am seeing.

I have to take my stock seat off to get my sidecovers off.

What do you want for the seat?

Don't forget to consider shipping via Greyhound. It's a little more hassle to take it to a bus terminal, but it can be significantly cheaper.
I had a fairing shipped that I probably saved $80 or so over FedEx.

              Thanks for the tip Prothec.
              I'll check that option.

Even if I would not mind doing that, I still don't like how it fits in my frame.
This is the second one I buy and sell, so maybe I am too picky?
                I want $75 for it.

Al, the correct seat for the 79-79 standard should have a straight molding running along the bottom on the left and right sides running front to back. This is key for it to match up with the side covers. The touring seat will have these but no rear cowl. The seat pictured above is for the 80-81, note the indentation for the TCI in the center of the pan. Good luck finding the correct one.

                    Comparison

'80G Stock pan with Travelcade K&Q cover

Tropic-al seat, notice 5 bolt holes for cowling, none on mine

straight bottom all the way to the rear

notice the angle up at the rear

                    rear shots

IMHO Al's seat is the earlier '78-'79 type, please correct me if I'm mistaken
