  • FS: Vetter V fairing w/ bracket

I believe this is a Vetter V --if someone can correct me on the model, please do. I got this a few years ago & never mounted it up, as I bought a Pacifico not too long after that.

The bad: Has a scuff on the windshield that you can see in one of the pics --should buff out though. I don't have the key for the locking compartmant. Some minor rust on the mounting bracket you can see in the pics.

The good: With the exception of those few things I just mentioned, it's in real good shape. Fiberglass is solid, comes with the electrical pigtail, leather on the non-locking compartment is good & pliable. It's a frame mount & would mount to any of the Standards or Specials. I think I read that it's even fit the XJ. I do have measurements in case you want to make sure. Might have a '78 headlamp/ring I could include. Would need to find it, though...

I'm asking $140 for it. Any interest?

Definitely NOT a Windjammer V. The 5's have a round headlight with a black plastic cowling around them that covers a small section of the windshield. They also have the smooth, integrated turn signals instead of those inset flat ones. I'm not super familiar with the early ones, but I'd call that one a Windjammer 3.

That is the Vetter made for Yamaha fairing that was offered as dealer option for the 1980Standard(G).

        Ahh, thanks for the correction.

So, anyone interested in it, there you have it. Vetter, but not a Windjammer. Thanks CBug & motoman.

So, does that mean that the Standard(G) headlight should fit in that hole?
Is that one of the benefits of the dealer installed 'stock' fairing that vetter made for Yamaha?

The fairing is made by Vetter for Yamaha. It is the equivalent of a Windjammer IV reworked to fit the rectangular headlight. Any part that fits a Windjammer IV will fit that fairing. Windshield, pocket covers, lowers, etc.
