  • Saddlebags and Mounts off my 79F

I have just ridden my 79F back from LA where it worked as a commuter bike for 17 years. Finally, my work is finished in LA, so I am able to bring my bike back home. Now that I am here, I don't want the saddlebags anymore (I have another bike with panniers) and if somebody wants them, they can have them.

They work as saddlebags. They are not pretty, they are functional. They don't lock, they are not waterproof, but they do an ok job of keeping the rain out. I have fiberglassed the inside of both of them and they are "permanently" mounted to the brackets. I say permanently because the bolts have been fiberglassed over. To keep the lids closed I have bolted webbing to the bag and to the bracket and they clip together. I have also had black metal pieces attached at the back of the brackets, and the nuts and bolts are spot welded together. Again, these are not pretty bags, they are purely functional and do their job.

I am in Houston. If anybody wants them they won't be cheap to ship, if somebody wants to come by and get them they can. If I get no takers, they got to the garbage.

I do have the guts for the locks, but the springs are weak and won't hold, and I also have the keys for them. These are genuine Yamaha parts too.
