    Sissy Bar for 1980-1981 Special

This is a NOS backrest I am about to list on eBay, unless it sells here.
Can be made to fit a Standard using spacers at the rear mount locations.
    Make me an offer!

This pic is off color but I could not use the flash, too much reflection.
    VERY clean part!

Man, I would love to have had that on my Schwinn 3-speed chopper project when I was 14. Oh...wait...that was the 70s.

Only 2 throws on that crank. Must be a twin.

                Measured the backrest:
                9" between rear mounts
12.5" between front mounts, give or take a little with the flex
12.5" CL front to CL rear

When I tried it on my 79SF I mounted it to the top of the shock and it almost lined right up with the rear aux mounting point but was too wide.
With it being marked XS1100 and not fitting a 79SF, it won't fit a Standard either. So, I 'm thinking 80-81 Special if anyone wants to confirm that with the measurements.

Unless it fits on over the stock grab bar, where the tail light assembly mounts, there is no place for the light to mount.

The one I have on there now had spacers built on to mount the rear mounts but it also had no place to attach the tail light so I put a 79 fender and tail light on my 80.

I think that will fit your 79 just fine with some spacers.
