Is this seat still available? If so, do you or anyone out there know if it will fit a "79" "F" Jon

it is still available; but fits special models; I am not sure why it won't fit a standard model except for the seat cowler; and perhaps it doesn't match the tank contour

The biggest issue is the side panels wont work with that seat.

                        Fit

Would it work on a SF?
I'm not up on the seat interchangeability.

Unfortunately, the SF is all on its own FT. The 80-81 Specials have the brake light up under the seat, and the shape for the side covers is different as well. It may well be able to be made to fit, but it is not a direct swap.

Too bad. It would have solved 2 issues for the wife. More cushion and a backrest.
