  • Looking for a hard bag setup complete.

With brackets and if possible, rails. I saw one member had bags with no brackets, but frankly what good is one without the other?

Color and condition unimportant. cracks/hinge loose etc. is OK, I'll be painting them anyway. As little rust as possible, though

    PM me.

    Thanks!
Former owner, but I have NO PARTS LEFT!

    bargain (?)

This guy had a complete set on CL in Chicago about a month ago. Pretty sure they never sold.
He did not want to ship them at that time, pick up only.

Call him & if still available I can help out with pick up & ship. Almost forgot.: he wanted $50.00.

Daryl,847-915-8945, pretty sure you'll have to leave a message & I'd include that you will pick up. ( Maybe you can talk him into shipping when you actually talk.)

Coming over to the Dark side or just getting ready for a trip? Get the big tank and pretend it's a Venturer

Shipping may be a killer but! Message me if interested. I would prefer to keep the trunk for my own use.

            Hi, Phil!

Yes, I'm tired of not having room for trips. The soft bags just flop in the breeze, pain in the ass..

How is Addie doing? Oh, and sure, send me a big tank and I'll put it on

              Hi Davinci,
Addie is patiently waiting in the garage for spring to arrive.
she needs the second gear fix before any long trips. The "new" carbs made a huge difference to both running and fuel consumption.

I never thought i would ask about this for a motorcycle, but how do I retrofit new bags to my special??
I just want hard saddles and soft ones under the seat, then I can go on myu long trip, otherwise, I'm stuck welding crap to the frame... and I don't want to hurt my baby...

I have some soft bags that dont flop in the breeze...its all in the brands an how you can set it up...but I fully empathise with the need to have storage capacity on yur bike...Just one more reason why the ST see the action over the XJ...

found some pics of my set up...the side bags are Firstgear and the top bag is a Cortech. The Cortech really hold the the side bags in place better than if I didnt use it...but once mounted this way and loaded nothing flops around

                      Hard Bags

You could prolly offer to buy just the bags
and he'd take you up on it...

                            Progress Update

A good reason to pick an off-the-shelf color. In my case, GM380 from Duplicolor. 8 years later they still have the paint. Color matching the bags to the bike....tops done. Bottoms will take a while. P.O. - B.R. (Before Rasputin) had drilled a few holes in them and cracked one. Crack and holes filled, awaiting priming.
