    The pickups and CDI are the same 78-80. They'll fit.

The box is exactly the same, but the centrifugal advance curve is a little different on the 80 than on the 79 and you may get ping as the 80 gets a more aggressive advance curve to make up for it's lower compression.
      The timing curve is in the cetrifugal unit and the vacuum unit, not the pickups Cy.

        Your right, I thought it included the advance unit as well. Since it doesn't then the centrifugal advance info doesn't go into it, although the vacuum advance does, since the 80 vacuum advance IS different from the 79 unit. It does more advance with less vacuum than the 79 unit IIRC, this could be a problem for a 79 engine.

          I see that one has the vac unit with it. That can be changed easily enough though. just a couple screws.
