  • WTB Front MC

I am looking for a working front master cylinder from an XS. I am replacing the brakes on one of my XJs. I have the SS lines, and the Rear MC--just need the front. Thanks in advance.

I have one off a 81 xs1100 that still works, just needs alittle clean up. I just took it off because I put a special front end on the bike. 10 bucks and its yours plus shipping.

I think the front mc is the same as the Specials--but I am trying to search to confirm that I am right. Haven't found an answer yet.

XJ'a had the linked rear/front left brakes. The front master cylinder only actuated the front right caliper. I would imagine the the front master cylinder would be smaller that the ones on the x11's but maybe the 650 master cylinders would work

If you're trying to convert a XJ to 'standard' brakes and get rid of that 'linked' brake system, you want a front master off a XS Special (as well as a XS rear). I'd recommend also replacing the clutch perch with a XS unit, otherwise your mirrors will be sticking up at two different angles. You'll lose the safety interlock on the clutch lever....

Thanks Steve--I was thinking it was the front mc from a special that would work. Thanks!
