My question is, is the guy selling the one in the top picture (an upgraded box) or the lower picture (an OEM, stock fuse box)? He talks about retaining the stock look, but uses 2 different pictures...

I have one that looks like the one he's showing on the rat bike & at the photo at the top. Silly me... I connected everything up and it looked great I was happy & done for the day, except the XJ11 side cover didn't come close to fitting on the fuse cover. I either had to remove it completely or unscrew it from the panel and wedge it in along the angle of the side panel & add extra thick insulation so it wouldn't wear through and short out.
I ended up putting individual in line mini spade lug fuses with the snap on cover to keep out the elements. No, it's not elegant but the fuses are just as easy to get to and they fold out of the way & fit fine.
82 XJ1100 Maxim "hurricane"- DEKA EXT18L AGM battery , NGK BPR6EIX spark plugs, Green Dyna coils, Sylvania SilverStar Ultra H4 bulb, 139 dB Stebel Nautilus air horn, Home-made K&N air filter based on an original paper filter frame, new piston rings, Barnett Clutch Springs, SS braid/Teflon brake lines, TKAT fork brace, rebuilt calipers, master cylinders, new brakes, reupholstered seat, lotsa little things and so many answered questions here.
I have fuse blocks from TC that I put on both my XJ11 and XJ650. The XJ11 is a tight fit with the side cover and the XJ650 is a tight fit with the seat. They so fit though just barely!
At least with TC's you have extra fuse spaces for carrying spares or adding components!
